Filippo is a guitarist, producer and composer based in North London. Originally from Italy, he started exploring music since his teenage years. He graduated in Guitar (Popular Music) at the conservatoire in Frosinone (Italy), where he also performed and arranged for the local young musicians’ orchestra.
Filippo works as a freelance musician and tutor in London, where he moved in 2013.
In 2014, he was awarded with a bursary for his MA in Composition at City University, which he completed two years later.
He then started working as a freelance composer for theatre and video and as a producer and mixing engineer.
Alongside his freelance work, he is an active live musician in two projects: Dead Writers (a rock band) and Alice in the Cruel Sea (a pop/ambient project). He is involved as a guitarist and producer in both bands with which he played numerous shows in UK and abroad.
Filippo also works as a music writer for the online platform Flypaper, where he has written about music history, composition, analysis and guitar technique.
Filippo has a 5+ years experience in tutoring 1 to 1 classes in guitar. His main focuses are developing a good technique on the instrument and a general understanding of music, alongside with encouraging the student to develop a personal musical interest and style.
His teaching style is friendly and light, yet focused on achieving the student’s goals according to their skills, interests and aims.
Students prepared by Filippo for Rockschool and Trinity Exams have had a 100% rate of success so far, with marks spanning from merit to distinction.
He has been working for Al Pascal Music School for 2 years, with good feedback from students and parents.
