At Al Pascal Music, we don’t just teach how to play an instrument but also how to be in a band! Learning how to play and work with fellow musicians is a vital skill for all aspiring musicians and is also great fun! Our workshops are ideal for musicians who are bored of being ‘bedroom players’ as well as those who would like to start a band. We focus on playing through and performing songs within a full band context and as pupils hone their skills and get their songs sounding great, they can look to perform them at our biannual CONCERTS. These workshops are open to all standards and all instruments as we really believe the benefits of learning alongside and playing with other musicians is a fundamental skill and can never be incorporated too early into one’s musical journey!
Workshops are held at Earthworks STUDIO . For more information or to sign up, ask your teacher or contact Alex on 07801 282 852.
Twice a year, we like to get all our pupils and teachers together and throw one massive musical party! Our concerts are a very big deal to us and since we started in 2009, we have raised over £17,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust. The summer concert takes place at EAST BARNET FESTIVAL where we run a stage throughout the weekend and host around 60 different performances! In the run up to the concerts, pupils learn their songs with their teachers and then rehearse them in a professional music studio within the context of a full band. Performing is an essential part of being a musician and can make people more confident and self-assured in many aspects of life, not just musically! Our winter concerts follow the same format and have so far being held in a range of venues such as the I-Bar (now the Stone Marquee), All Saint’s Church and The Queen’s Arms in New Barnet. We encourage all our pupils to perform in our concerts – it really is a fantastic experience!
